Tasty Place (美味园) - Towering

Our visit to Tasty Place at Towering was a mixed meal with one clear reason to return: the Spicy Dry Pan Mee. Its sour and spicy flavours woke up the appetite, while the heat felt balanced rather than overwhelming. That refreshing edge was what made the bowl stand out for us.

The restaurant itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. During our visit, ordering and payment were handled at the counter first. That describes how our meal worked at the time, rather than a guarantee about the ordering system today.

Alongside the Pan Mee, we tried dry noodles with roasted pork and fried pork. The noodles were decent, and the roasted pork was decent too. Neither gave us a strong reason to complain, but they were less memorable than the sour-spicy Pan Mee.

The fried pork was the weak point. During this visit it seemed overcooked, leaving the meat somewhat tough. That texture mattered more to our impression of the dish than the otherwise acceptable noodles and roasted pork. It is a criticism of what we were served on this occasion.

We also felt that a bowl was relatively small. It may be enough for some people, but based on our meal, diners with a larger appetite might not feel fully satisfied. We would keep that personal portion impression in mind when deciding how much to order.

Afterwards, we heard that Champion Soy Sauce Chicken Rice might be a specialty here. We did not eat it, so there is no verdict on that dish in this review. For the food we actually tried, Spicy Dry Pan Mee is our recommendation; the overcooked fried pork was the part we would most like to see improve.
