Khong Kee brought us satisfying Tawau-style noodle flavours in Kepayan. The wet Special Fried Noodle stood out for its rich gravy and chewy noodles, with fresh-tasting seafood and substantial ingredients across the meal.
Our visit to Restaurant Khong Kee in Kepayan was about Tawau-style flavours in KK, and the noodle dishes gave us plenty to enjoy. The substantial ingredients and fresh-tasting seafood were among the meal’s positives.
The seafood noodles came with fish slices and handmade meat items alongside the seafood. We liked the freshness and the amount of ingredients, which made the bowl feel substantial rather than just a serving of noodles.
The Special Fried Noodle, ordered wet, was one of the stronger recommendations from this visit. Its rich, savoury gravy soaked into the noodles, and we particularly liked their Q, chewy texture. The combination of sauce and noodle texture was what made this dish work for us.
The Jiang-Nam-style crispy noodles offered another enjoyable texture. We liked the contrast between the crisp noodles and the silky egg gravy. It gave us a different kind of noodle dish to enjoy alongside the wet fried version.
We noticed Hainan Chicken Rice and Kuching Laksa on the menu too, but did not try either during this visit. Our recommendation comes from the noodle dishes we actually ate, especially the wet Special Fried Noodle with its rich gravy and satisfying chew.

这次到 Kepayan 的康记茶餐室，我们主要是来吃斗湖风味面食。整餐比较加分的地方，是食材给得足，海鲜吃起来也有新鲜感。
海鲜面里除了海鲜，还有鱼片和手工肉料，配料挺丰富。对我们来说，这种足料的组合吃起来比较满足，不会只有面条撑场。
其中比较想推荐的是湿炒 Special Fried Noodle。浓郁咸香的酱汁让面条吸满味道，面条本身又保留 Q 弹、有嚼劲的口感。我们喜欢的正是酱汁和面条搭在一起的感觉。
江南生面则是另一种口感。酥脆的面条配上滑顺蛋汁，脆与滑的反差让我们吃得很喜欢，和湿炒面各有吸引力。
菜单上也有海南鸡饭和古晋叻沙，不过这次没有点，不能当成吃过来推荐。就这次实际尝到的面食来说，浓汁入味、面条 Q 弹的湿炒面，是我们会先提起的一道。
