This was a cheap, very fast nostalgia stop, but the chicken rice itself was ordinary. The drumstick was somewhat dry and short on tenderness, while the oily rice lacked flavour; we felt KK had better options if food quality was the priority.
We returned to the chicken-rice counter in Centre Point Sabah’s basement food court after many years, mainly for nostalgia. Our food verdict from this visit was more ordinary than the memories that brought us back.
Speed was the strongest practical positive. The food arrived within minutes, making it convenient for a casual meal or a catch-up without a long wait.
The prices were another part of that appeal at the time: chicken breast rice was RM6.90 and drumstick rice RM7.90. Those are the prices from our historical source, rather than current menu promises. We considered the meal inexpensive on that visit.
The drumstick, however, was somewhat dry. It was not as tender, juicy or smooth as we would have liked. The rice was a second weakness. Despite being oily rice, it lacked flavour and tasted rather bland to us.
We were also surprised to be served in styrofoam containers for dine-in. That describes what was used during our meal; the observation is not a claim about environmental rules or the stall’s packaging today.
The visit delivered nostalgia, affordability and very fast service, but the food itself was not especially memorable. We would see it as a convenient, low-cost stop based on that experience. If the priority were the quality of the chicken rice, we felt there were better options around Kota Kinabalu.

隔了很多年，再回到 Centre Point 地库美食区吃鸡饭，主要是想找回以前的感觉。怀旧是有的，但这次鸡饭本身给我们的评价就比较普通。
实际优点很清楚：快。点好后几分钟就送到，想简单吃一餐，或者坐下来和朋友聊聊，不必等很久，这点方便。
当时鸡胸饭是 RM6.90，鸡腿饭 RM7.90，以那次来说属于便宜的选择。这里记录的是历史价格，不保证现在仍然一样。
鸡腿肉则让我们有点失望。吃起来偏干，嫩度、肉汁和滑口感都没有达到我们的偏好。油饭也是另一个不足，香味不够，整体比较淡，没有让鸡饭加分。
堂食时仍然用保丽龙餐盒，这点也让我们有些意外。这只是当天看到的盛装方式，不延伸成对现在做法或法规的判断。
所以这餐可以说有回忆、价钱亲民、出餐也很快，但食物品质没有特别留下好印象。若只是方便吃一顿、顺便怀旧，可以理解它的吸引力；如果是为了吃一份真正出色的鸡饭，我们觉得亚庇还有更好的选择。

Affordability and speed were the positives. The dry drumstick and bland oily rice left us feeling there were better chicken-rice options in KK when quality mattered most.
