This was simple, nostalgic ngiu chap, with generous toppings and a filling portion that felt good value at the time. Its appeal was the comfort of an old-school meal, rather than a striking or elaborate flavour.
We came across Simple Bites casually while visiting Karamunsing. It occupied a separate shop beside a salon, outside the food-court area. The setting was simple and clean, with a casual, no-frills feel that reminded us of a neighbourhood kopitiam.
We tried the ngiu chap, or beef offal noodles. What stayed with us was how familiar the meal felt. The flavour was straightforward and comforting, with the sort of old-school character that brought back memories of simple meals after school.
It was not a bowl we would call extraordinary, and it did not need to be. The enjoyment came from that uncomplicated familiarity: sitting down to a local meal that felt easy to appreciate without a lot of fuss.
The toppings were generous during our visit, and the bowl left us feeling full. For what was served and what we paid that day, we felt the value was good. That impression belongs to this meal rather than a promise about portions or prices on a future visit.
The surroundings suited the food. Simple, clean and unpretentious, the shop gave us a comfortable place to pause while visiting Karamunsing. We remember Simple Bites for a satisfying bowl of ngiu chap and the nostalgia it brought with it. It was a modest pleasure, and that was enough.

那次配料给得蛮大方，整碗吃下来很饱足。以当天吃到的分量和付的价钱来说，我们觉得值得。这是那一餐的感受，之后的分量和价钱仍要以到访时为准。
简单干净的环境，也和这碗牛杂粉很搭。在商场走走后坐下来吃一餐，轻松、不讲究，却有熟悉的满足感。我们记住的就是这份怀旧和朴实，而不是特别夸张的赞美。
